Johann (John) Christian Oerter, born October 16, 1747 in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania, died on
March 29, 1777 at age of 29. After his death hie gunshop passed to William Henry Jr. Oerter was apprentice to Andreas Albrecht in Christian Springs. Albrecht opened a formal gunshop in Christian Springs. Oerter became master of the gunshop in 1766. This gun is attributed to Christian Oerter during his apprenticeship with Andreas Albrecht.
